Revolution in Counterpoint: A Symposium at Columbia University

On November 19, 2013, Molly Nesbit, Shuddhabrata Sengupta (of Raqs Media Collective), Michael Hardt and Rossella Biscotti gathered to discuss the creative models and concepts underlying various 20th century utopian political movements, in an attempt to place these frameworks in dialogue with contemporary performance art practice. Titled “Revolution in Counterpoint: Contemporary Performance Art and the Political Past,” the symposium was organized by Art History graduate students Valerie Werder, Juliette Premmereur and Eva Lu. The following videos contain the audio and accompanying images of their discussion.
